The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

The Armenian Communities Department is seeking a Project Manager to join its team for a 10-month period, to replace a maternity leave.

Contractual conditions: Fixed-term employment contract (10 months)

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and review applications for scholarships and subsidies, namely, assess and check the eligibility requirements;
  • Ensure the management, monitoring and follow-up of the various projects, activities, and events in progress, with a view to ensuring procedural compliance, and the quality of their development and execution on the ground;
  • Carry out the continuous evaluation of projects, identify possible deviations / areas for improvement, with a view to defining and implementing corrective measures, in order to ensure that all projects are carried out in accordance with previously established quality and financial parameters.
  • Ensure the analysis, validation, and confirmation of information, data, invoices and documents connected to the development of the various projects, in order to sustain management and decision-making processes, endowing them with greater reliability and robustness, while minimizing risks;
  • Ensure coordination and communication with the various areas and Organizational Units of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, requesting or making available information, data or documents required for the development of activities in other areas or units, in order to assure internal alignment and cohesion.

Required skills

  • Graduate degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills, plus good analytical, initiative, autonomy and teamwork skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken Portuguese and English language. Knowledge of the Armenian and French languages are a preferential factor.
  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office tools.

Admissibility requirements for foreign citizens

Foreign citizens from the European Economic Area, which include the Member States of the European Union/EEA/SWITZERLAND, may apply provided they have a EU Registration Certificate issued by the City Council of the area of residence, after having lived for at least 3 months in Portugal, as well as citizens from third countries, without agreements with the European Union, including citizens belonging to the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), with a Work Visa or with a Permanent or Temporary Residence Permit enabling them to carry out a professional activity in Portuguese territory.
