Partnerships with Africa Intern

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

With it’s Partnerships with Africa Programme the Gulbenkian Foundation wants minimize the low levels of learning and qualification of young people in STEM, the low degree of autonomy and local leadership of research agendas, namely in Health Sciences and lack of opportunities and support for emerging artists in the Portuguese-speaking African Countries.

The Gulbenkian Foundation is looking for an Intern to join the Partnerships with Africa Programme.

Contractual conditions: Professional Extracurricular Internship Contract (12 months)

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in planning and organizing the various tasks of the Partnerships with Africa Programme activity plan;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of project proposals, particularly those involving external co-financing and various partners;
  • Participate in the process of reviewing funding applications;
  • Carry out logistical and administrative monitoring, as well as the management of allocated financing;
  • Participate in the review and monitoring process of awarded grants, as well as of the outcomes and impacts on beneficiaries;
  • Collect data for assessing contexts/trends and insights.

Required skills

  • Graduate degree;
  • No minimum experience required;
  • Technical knowledge of business management;
  • Technical knowledge of accounting and finance;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Planning and organization abilities;
  • Basic knowledge on the subject of international development (preferred).
