The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

Every year Gulbenkian Music promotes a music season with more than 120 concerts, which include the presence of the Gulbenkian Orchestra and Choir, as well as of great names in world music.

We are seeking to reinforce the Gulbenkian Music team with a Music Production Assistant to take responsibility for promoting and providing support in planning and programming concerts, guest musician recitals and/or other performance activities, in order to ensure that the various events are held with the appropriate quality level.

Contractual conditions: Permanent employment contract

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare work schedules and lists of selected casts, in coordination with artistic management.
  • Process the choir members’ daily attendance on the OPAS platform.
  • Process the choristers’ monthly fees [preparing the respective reports on OPAS].
  • Control absences.
  • Manage the pianists to be invited to accompany the rehearsals for each programme.
  • Manage the music archive.
  • Order and prepare musical scores for choir projects.
  • Organize documents and production details related to tours.

Required Skills

  • Graduate degree in Musical Sciences or Composition by ESML, the Music School of Lisbon.
  • Good command of written and spoken Portuguese and English language.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiar with working with OPAS.
  • Familiar with working with the Sibelius score editing application.
  • Good relational, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability for working in the evening on a regular basis, to assist with rehearsals and concerts.
  • Availability to accompany the choir on national and international tours.
