Intern Production Assistant / Education Sector Gulbenkian Music

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

Gulbenkian Music promotes an educational programme with over 300 annual sessions divided into several areas of activity, such as programming for Schools (musical and pedagogical visits, specific educational needs, commented concerts, attendance of open rehearsals, masterclasses); music at school programme; “Estágio Gulbenkian para Orquestra” (an orchestra internship programme); programming for families; programming for youth and adults; special projects.

Contractual conditions: Professional Internship Contract (8 months)

Main Responsibilities

  • Support department coordination in administrative and production programming activities for various audiences
  • Support assembly and disassembly tasks, assist trainers, monitor participants in Gulbenkian Music education sector activities, whether at schools or other venues
  • Supervised updating of payment tables
  • Supervised preparation of contracts and respective management
  • Utilise the OPAS application
  • Accompany the visits of Gulbenkian Orchestra musicians to schools and establish communication with the partner schools; supervised preparation of contracts and invitations
  • Support Pre-Concert Talks and course speakers in processing audio and video files
  • Estágio Gulbenkian para Orquestra — prepare the call for applications, attend auditions and process the resulting files; process candidate details; process and assemble scores
  • Gulbenkian Digital Archive — file contracts, photographs and videos in the Gulbenkian Digital Archive / Gulbenkian Music and Jazz in August websites; support their respective creation/updating

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in Musical Sciences or equivalent (solid musical knowledge)
  • Good command of written and spoken Portuguese and English language
  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools
  • Good relational, communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability during weekend and evening hours to support educational sessions
  • Availability to accompany the Estágio Gulbenkian para Orquestra on tour
