The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its branches in Paris and London.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum houses one of the most important private art collections in the world, gathered during Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian’s lifetime, with works that span five thousand years of art, from Ancient Egypt to the 20th century. In addition to the Collection, the Gulbenkian Museum organizes temporary exhibitions and other activities such as guided tours, workshops, conferences, among others.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum is looking for an intern to join its team. 

Contractual conditions: Professional Extracurricular Internship Contract (12 months)

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the review of InArte fields selected for online publication;
  • Collaborate with the conservators team of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in updating the inventory;
  • Manage, and keep all documents supporting the Online Collections project up to date;
  • Manage, review and update the terminology used in the InArte database, ensuring compliance with national and international requirements established within the scope of management and standardization of museum collections.

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in History or Art History;
  • No minimum experience required;
  • Good skills in terms of organization and management of information, and of simultaneous works;
  • Good grasp of the InArte collections management system;
  • Good grasp of computer tools, namely MS Excel.
