The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose fundamental mission is to improve people’s quality of life through art, philanthropy, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon and its offices in Paris and London.

We are seeking to strengthen the team of the Armenian Communities Service, working in close coordination with the Zarmanazan Project Manager, the Director of CARM, and external partners, by recruiting an Event Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated vision for the event.

This role requires excellent organisational, planning, and logistical management skills, strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently. High levels of responsibility, reliability, and proactivity are also essential.

Contractual Conditions: Part-time contract (May 2026 to December 2026)

Main Responsibilities

  • Draft and send invitations, ensuring logistical follow-up with participants;
  • Organize travel (international and local) and accommodation;
  • Ensure catering services (lunches, coffee breaks, and dinners);
  • Coordinate on-site logistics (audiovisual equipment, presentations, materials, among others);
  • Contribute to the definition of the program in coordination with the various stakeholders;
  • Implement a communication and media strategy (before, during, and after the event), including social media;
  • Support the organisation and implementation of the cultural program and, where applicable, a temporary exhibition;
  • Monitor and manage the event budget;
  • Liaise with the relevant internal units (operations, marketing, communication, among others);
  • Provide support in carrying out other tasks related to event organisation.

Required skills

  • Pre-Bologna Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree;
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in event management or project management;
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills;
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Creativity and a strong understanding of youth culture;
  • Experience in international and multicultural contexts;
  • Sensitivity to linguistic and cultural issues in diaspora contexts, particularly the Armenian diaspora;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written) – mandatory;
  • French – desirable;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong results-oriented mindset.

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of diaspora dynamics in Portugal;
  • Availability to travel to France for several days in July 2026 to support the Zarmanazan summer camp.
