Exhibition curating internships for PALOP curators
Grants for an in-person, four-month internship at the Centro de Arte Moderna at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 2025.

The objective of these internships is to foster the empowerment and development of professional competences in the PALOPs, promoting curatorial reflection and practices in the field of the contemporary visual arts and ensuring practical experience in curating through accompanying all of the different stages involved in designing and staging exhibitions, as well as educational activities. This initiative also nurtures the internationalisation of PALOP curators, integrating them into a benchmark institutional ambience such as the Centro de Arte Moderna (CAM) at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Eligibility Conditions
Eligible to apply to the present tender call are those professionals who meet each of the following conditions:
- Be nationals and resident in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique or Sao Tome and Principe.
- Be between 25 and 40 years of age.
- Display experience or interest in curatorial research and practices in the field of the contemporary visual arts, across areas such as the visual arts, history of art, cultural studies, theories of art, museology or production and cultural management.
- Candidates holding dual nationality should apply under the nationality of their country of residence. This nationality should be the same as that submitted in any other applications for support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
- Preference shall be attributed to candidates who completed the first or second edition of the curating program run by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in partnership with the School of Arts at the Catholic University of Portugal.
