Adriana Calcanhotto

Adriana Calcanhotto began her artistic career in the 1980s. Positive reviews led to her first album, Enguiço (1990), which was followed by several others. In 2004, she created the children’s alter ego Adriana Partimpim, a project that won a Latin Grammy in the Best Children’s Album category. In 2011, she produced her first entirely self-written album, O Micróbio do Samba, whose title alludes to an expression by her fellow countryman Lupicínio Rodrigues. In 2018-2019, she taught the composition course ‘How to write songs’ at the University of Coimbra.
