Support for short courses on performing arts in the PALOP countries

Funding for short courses on performing arts to be held in Portuguese-speaking African countries.

Applications

Call for applications for artistic institutions in the PALOP countries (Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe)

This call for proposals aims to support the organisation of short courses (masterclasses) by awarding financial support to artistic production institutions in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique or São Tomé and Príncipe.

With the aim of helping to mitigate the lack of opportunities and support for emerging artists from the PALOP to integrate global trends in the arts, particularly as regards training in the performing arts (staging and artistic direction, scenography and set design, stage lighting, sound design, wardrobe and characterisation, dramaturgy, etc.), the grant aims to encourage high-quality training, involving national or international trainers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Private, non-profit artistic production institutions based in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique or São Tomé and Príncipe, with documented activity in the country’s artistic scene.
  • They must not have another application in this grant.
  • The training courses must not last longer than 2 weeks and must begin no later than 6 months after the support has been announced.
  • The training courses must be led by renowned teachers in the field of performing arts.
