This was the lesson Indigenous chiefs taught youngsters to encourage them to care for the earth, their mother, to protect all living things and to contribute to the equilibrium of this great living being. Many tribes also had the tradition of painting the body with clay, charcoal and other minerals, in one of the most ancient art forms.

In this workshop, we will discover soils of different colours and textures and make paints from the earth.

With these special paints and a mirror, we will create self-portraits out of earth!
