Le Chant de la Montagne

Combining an important career in ethnomusicology with that of a sublime interpreter (voice and oud) of the Syrian tradition, Waed Bouhassoun was honoured in 2022 for her research into the songs present in the funerary rituals of the Jabal al-Druze mountain, where she grew up. The concerto Le Chant de la Montagne is also the result of this research, which highlights what is common between the repertoires of southern Syria, Russia and the Kurdish region in southern Turkey. All the mystery and charm of the natural landscape transposed into music with a poetic soul.
