The highlights of the Calouste Gulbenkian Collection

Event Slider

Travel through a wide range of cultures – from Ancient Egypt to Persia and Japan – and discover artists such as Rembrandt, Turner and Lalique with a special tour aimed at private groups that highlights the key pieces brought together by Calouste Gulbenkian.

Calouste Gulbenkian was an Armenian businessman, art collector and philanthropist who chose Lisbon as the place to spend his final years and to display his collection. Meet the man behind the collector, his tastes and the period in which he lived, through the stories of how he bought the most emblematic pieces in the collection. The tour begins with the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, continuing through the Middle East and Far East, then crossing Europe, from the decorative arts of the 18th century to the artists who most fascinated him: Rembrandt, Turner and his personal friend, René Lalique.

All tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
The visit in Portuguese costs 100,00 € per group plus 10,00 € per person (Museum ticket value)  and in other languages costs 120,00 € per group plus 10,00 € per person (Museum ticket value) – discounts can be applied.
