Guided tour of the exhibition on photographer Todd Webb’s perspective in Portugal, as part of International Museum Day, exploring images captured between 1972 and 1982.

Portugal by Todd Webb is an exhibition presenting a group of photographs taken by the American photographer Todd Webb during his three trips to the country, between 1972 and 1982.

Recently donated by the Todd Webb Archive to the Art Library collection of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, these works are now being shown to the public for the first time in this exhibition.

The exhibition also includes sixteen photographs taken in other parts of the world – New York and Africa – allowing a comparison between the work produced in Portugal and that created in other places and periods of his career, highlighting different moments of Todd Webb’s practice within the history of 20th-century photography.
