At the age of 32, Dinis Sousa has just been appointed Principal Conductor of the Royal Northern Symphony, a chamber orchestra based in Newcastle, England. Previously worked as Assistant Conductor of the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras whom which he performed at the prestigious BBC Proms, conducting Berlioz’s choral symphony Roméo et Juliette. Sousa, the founder of Orquestra XXI, is now returning to this leading romantic exponent in a programme featuring the song cycle Les nuits d’été, together with works by other leading composers of the romantic period.
