SLAM at CAM is a spoken poetry competition where the audience has the power.

Each poet has three minutes to recite a text they have written and win over the crowd in order to get through to the next round. Those who reach the third round – the final – will be challenged to write a new poem based on a work exhibited in the gallery, allocated to them at random at the time.

In the poetry slam, the spoken word becomes like a board game of listening and exchange. The audience plays too: five ‘jury’ members are chosen, who will give the poems ‘grades’ from 0 to 10, deciding who gets through to the next round.

To attend as a member of the audience, no registration is required. Simply collect the tickets, which will be available two hours before the performance.

Registration to participate as a poet are now open. Anyone over the age of 11 can participate.
