The same can be said the other way around, when we speak of António Poppe. The poetry he writes comes off on paper like on other artistic media. António Poppe is a poet and a visual artist, or perhaps something in constant fluctuation between the two, in the act of bringing awareness to the present and to being together, with meditation also being a central part of the artist he is. La Família Gitana are Ari, Rui, Leandro, Ângelo, Alexandre e Mário who, besides sharing the blood that unites them as a family, make heritage and tradition a daily pleasure.
“Música Cigana Camões Yanomami/A Soma dos Seus” consists of a performance/concert that combines the poetry of Camões, texts by Davi Kopenawa (from the Yanomami indigenous), with Gypsy Music. This encounter creates a communicative composition of original expressions. In addition to texts from India as well, with Os Upanishad. Poems written with Mumtazz, “O Agitador e a Corrente”. Voices inspired by Camaron de La Isla, Ibra Galissa, Buika. And many others that visit the artists through air and burning oxygen.
The conviviality of joint learning is invigorating. Community is this. Creating together and touching on the memory of plural composition. It is a stone singing the light on the water. Vertebrae harmonium. The same trunk as the heart. Music.
Composing music and poetry to contemplate the unique nature of the world. The firm determination to end the violence of exclusion. A group for contemplating the fusion that never stops revealing nature.
