Location
Learning Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianIn partnership with ModaLisboa, we present a programme based on the points of intersection between visual arts and fashion, disciplines that provoke and stimulate one another in the construction of a collaborative future. At the heart of each of these ‘Dialogues’, we find creative thought and process.
These encounters are built around shared concepts and practices through which to interpret the real, and to experiment and investigate unexplored paths that lead to the production of the ‘new,’ or to another vision of the present and the ‘other’.
The term ‘dialogues’ evokes an idea of empathy between people in conversation, an openness to listening and communication that also extends to the audience. Those watching are invited to participate and reflect on these artistic practices, the conceptual divisions and intersections, and the impact of materiality on the construction of new cultural narratives.
As part of the 64th Lisbon Fashion Week programme, the Dialogues programme consists of a series of conversations between artists and fashion designers. Based on their creative processes, these gatherings explore the areas of intersection between the visual arts and fashion.
This conversation will occur in Portuguese without simultaneous translation.

Adriana Proganó
Adriana Proganó (b. Luzern, Switzerland, 1992) is a visual artist whose work is focused on creating an imaginary that seeks to break down limiting social rules and challenge the impositions of the educational system, in the search for a more authentic human experience. Through her pictorial and sculptural compositions, she explores the limits imposed by a rigid social structure, creating characters who move through different spaces, reflecting a freedom within their own restrictions. The idea of freedom is central to her work and is the starting point for her artistic language.

Diogo Mestre
The Mestre Studio brand was founded in 2023 and presented its first collection at ModaLisboa’s Sangue Novo competition, immediately asserting its nostalgic vein and the importance of memories in building its identity, working mainly with knitwear and the deconstruction of traditional techniques. Diogo Mestre, the brand’s director, graduated in sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2022 and went on to study for a master’s degree in Fashion Design at the Lisbon School of Architecture. More than creating clothes, Mestre wants to create narratives that allow for a deep immersion in his universe.
