Michel Corboz Room Meeting point: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Atrium
Before going on stage to conduct the Participatory Concert, Joana Carneiro meets with Cartão Gulbenkian Mais holders for an open and informal conversation.

In this conversation, the conductor shares her artistic journey, reflects on the work of conducting an orchestra, the processes of musical creation, and the challenges of directing a project that brings together professional musicians and amateur choristers.

Born in Lisbon, Joana Carneiro graduated in Orchestral Conducting from the National Superior Academy of Orchestra and continued her studies in the United States, where she completed her master’s degree at Northwestern University and her doctorate at the University of Michigan. In this conversation, she will also discuss her international experience and the relationship between conductor, orchestra, and audience.

After participating in the conversation, Cartão Gulbenkian Mais holders can use the same ticket to attend the rehearsal of The Passion According to St Mark, conducted by the maestro. The rehearsal will take place between 7.30 pm and 10.30 pm in the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

An opportunity for closeness and sharing, exclusively for Cartão Gulbenkian Mais holders, designed for dialogue about music and artistic creation.

The Cartão Gulbenkian Mais programme has a limited capacity. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket. Enter your MyGulbenkian account, open the “Tickets” section, and click “Cancel”.
