We investigate the materials that make up these objects – woods, fibres, and minerals – and the environmental impact of their extraction, transport, and transformation over the centuries.

By placing French furniture and Chinese porcelain in dialogue with contemporary fashion, we question the logic of mass production: how did we move from the unique object and haute couture to disposability?
