How to display a life that never wished to be exhibited? How to present the history of a man who did not have a linear life?
This exhibition commemorates the 150th birthday of Calouste Gulbenkian and seeks to show his life without exhibiting it, starting from back-to-front. Across a set of screens, different people tell how Calouste ended up changing their lives. And how did they change? Through the Foundation bearing his name, established by his last will and testament. Here’s where we begin this journey in the discovery of a man who died in Lisbon in 1955 and bestowing on Portugal both his art collection and his fortune.
