Brötzmann / Schlippenbach / Bennink

Event Slider

When Peter Brötzmann and Han Bennink first teamed up in 1968, they collaborated on recording one of Europe’s most influential jazz albums. Fifty years after the release of Machine Gun, they decided to celebrate the date and rediscovered their musical telepathy, which extended to their collaboration with the equally historic pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach. Fuelled by the same original voracious impetus, the encounter of the three as a trio gave rise to the album Fifty Years After and to a tour that continues to bring to the stage music that evokes the past but is all about the present.
