Having left their country of origin in 2021, the musicians of ANIM – Afghanistan National Institute of Music – found a new home in Portugal. Since then, they have performed on national and international stages, promoting and safeguarding the musical traditions and practices of Afghanistan.

In 2024, ANIM returns to the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum with its group of young musicians. The programme for this concert combines traditional music and songs with original approaches that reflect the theme of changing seasons and enduring emotions, and brings the Gulbenkian Museum’s programme for International Museum Day to a close.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation reserves the right to collect and keep records of images, sounds and voice for the diffusion and preservation of the memory of its cultural and artistic activity. For further information, please contact us through the Information Request form.
