Location
Multi-purpose Room Calouste Gulbenkian MuseumThe work of artist Teresa Segurado Pavão is a continuous reflection on this idea: fragments of objects from other times retain the memory of their original forms and, once incorporated into new objects, themselves become fragments of those times. Led by Teresa Segurado Pavão and Joana Capucho, this workshop invites participants to create ceramic pieces by combining newly made forms with fragments of personal objects, allowing textures and memories to be imprinted in the clay.
The first session, on 20 February from 15:00 to 17:00, will take the form of a guided exhibition tour and conversation led by the artist. During the second session, on 21 March from 10:00 am to 17:30, participants will develop their own ceramic piece in a studio workshop setting.
The ticket includes both sessions, all materials, and the firing of the finished pieces. After the workshop, the pieces will be taken for firing and will be available for collection during the following month. The workshop is open both to participants with previous experience and to those for whom this will be their first introduction to ceramics.
Please note: Ceramics is a handmade process during which pieces may undergo changes, including cracking, warping, or breakage. For this reason, it is not possible to guarantee the integrity of the pieces produced during the workshop, as such occurrences are inherent characteristics and risks of the ceramic-making process.
