In this workshop, inspired by the biodiversity of the Gulbenkian Garden, we will experiment with printing plant images using their phytochemical properties.

When photography was first developed in the 19th century, many light-sensitive substances were tested – including leaves, flowers and roots. Plants themselves have chemical properties that, through a simple process, can even be used to create a photographic developer.

Depending on the sunlight conditions, we will work with either phytography or anthotype techniques, in agreement with the teacher.

Duration: 90 min. Participants: 10 – 20 Language: Portuguese
