In this session, we will have a very special guest who will talk to us about the importance of biodiversity for life on Earth.

In groups, we will try to identify the greatest possible diversity of species of plants, insects, birds, and other animals in the Gulbenkian Garden, learning how to contribute to citizen science.

The International Day for Biological Diversity is celebrated annually on May 22nd and is based on the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted at the Earth Summit (Rio de Janeiro, 1992).

The goal is to promote sustainable development and the implementation of the principles contained in the new global biodiversity framework, in order to build a better future in harmony with nature and continue efforts to restore natural ecosystems.
