In October 2015, a national NGO Fair was held for the first time in Portugal. 128 NGOs participated in this event, from Portugal and seven other European countries, including the EEA Grants Donor Countries which fund the Cidadania Ativa Programme – Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The fair was integrated into the Greenfest, the largest annual event in Portugal dedicated to the promotion of best practices on sustainability in the environmental, social and economic areas; with its 2015 edition being dedicated to Active Citizenship. The event was attended by around 25,000 visitors over the four days.
