Olhar e pensar a iniciativa PARTIS & Art for Change( 2023–2025)

Based on the final report prepared for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the ”la Caixa” Foundation, it brings together and organises the main reflections, lessons learned and recommendations that emerged over the three years in which the supported projects were implemented. These are presented in accessible language for a wider audience interested in participatory and community arts practices.

Between September 2023 and August 2025, the initiative’s external monitoring and evaluation, led by Isabel Lucena and Hugo Cruz, focused on the 16 supported projects. Throughout this period, the aim was to follow the projects’ development, identify emerging challenges and lessons learned, and encourage reflection on the quality of their processes and outcomes.

The second edition of PARTIS & Art for Change marked a new stage in the initiative’s development, drawing on the experience gained from the previous edition and the three editions of PARTIS that preceded it, while also facing new implementation challenges. The initiative provided a valuable setting in which to test and further develop its monitoring and evaluation process.

As with the first edition, the conclusions and recommendations shared here are essential to helping the initiative’s management team make further improvements in subsequent editions
