Notas de Contacto began in 2009 as a partnership between the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra (OCP) and CERCIOEIRAS (Cooperative for the Education and Rehabilitation of Citizens with Disabilities). Between 2016 and 2018, the project was part of the PARTIS programme of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Notas de Contacto is an inclusive ensemble of people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities, with varying degrees of autonomy. Since 2017, this team has been working to develop an innovative methodology that transforms and adapts simple musical concepts. Besides being encouraged to improve their skills, participants can also be integrated into working groups, thus gaining autonomy in the process of creation and artistic interpretation.

Following the publication of a first methodology manual after the implementation of the project in Cercioeiras, this manual presents the results of the research carried out over the past three years. Methodological Manual II describes the specifics of the methodology used and presents the conclusions and practical results of this approach.
