International Development Summer Course
The fifth edition of the Summer Course, under the theme of “Cooperation in a world under disruption: who defines the rules?”, took place between 26 and 30 May and provided an opportunity to rethink the pillars of Global Development.
The conclusions of the sessions, gathered together in this publication, approach fundamental questions such as the role of democracy, the motivations for international cooperation and the complex relationship between economic growth and development.
The International Development Summer Course holds the objective of strengthening the leadership of NGDOs through stimulating reflection on the current issues and challenges facing the international development agenda. It is run by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Portuguese NGDO Platform and Cesa – the Africa Study Centre at ISEG University.
