Corpoemcadeia is an artistic project that brings together dance and Gestalt psychotherapy within a prison context. This publication reflects the work carried out between 2019 and 2022 at Estabelecimento Prisional do Linhó (Linhó Prison), with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The project set out to broaden access to culture and to foster processes of psychosocial reintegration for people living in conditions of incarceration. Its approach was rooted in the dialogue between dance – drawing in particular on the improvisation and creative methodologies of Companhia Olga Roriz – and Gestalt psychotherapy, which understands human existence as an ongoing creative process.
