Nu Kre Bai Na Bu Onda (alkantara)

The Gulbenkian Foundation’s Human Development services have been supporting the Nu Kre Bai Na Bu Onda project since 2007. The name is Creole and means “We want to ride on your wave”.

The project promotes and develops skills in various artistic fields, particularly dance and theatre, in the Cova da Moura neighbourhood in the municipality of Amadora.

“Íman” (Magnet), a dance performance by Filipa Francisco – nominated by PÚBLICO newspaper as the best dance show of the year 2008 – and “A Mulher que parou” (The Woman Who Stopped), a theatre play by Cláudia Gaiolas and Pedro Carraca, are examples of the successful work Nu Kre Bai na Bu Onda has been doing.
