Summer Course on Global Development
The 3rd edition of the Summer Course on International Development is taking place exclusively online between 15 and 17 June.
Challenging the future of Global Development, seeking to design and implement innovative and alternative approaches to tomorrow’s problems provides the theme for this initiative run by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Portuguese Platform for Non-governmental Development Organisations and the Centre of Studies on Africa and Development /Higher Institute of Economics and Management.
The issues around financing for development, the role of cooperation in a post-pandemic world, the construction of genuine and legitimate partnerships, fair trade – within a logic of sustainable production and consumption -, democracy, the economy and the public sphere and the civic space represent the themes approached in the public speeches and correspondingly reaching out to NGDO managers and civil society organisations, researchers and academics, journalists, government and private institutions.

The speeches are to be given in English or Portuguese with interpretation into the other language simultaneously available.
