On 17 May, under the direction of conductor Anton Holmer, the Gulbenkian Orchestra will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Saint-Saëns and Paul Dukas.

The initiative is part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Gulbenkian Foundation and aims to bring classical music closer to audiences in these Portuguese-speaking countries, promoting access to this artistic world.

The concert will take place on 17 May at 15:00 (Lisbon time). The livestream will be shown in Praia, at the Portuguese Cultural Centre, at 13:00 (Cape Verde time); in Luanda, also at the Portuguese Cultural Centre, at 15:00 (the same time as Lisbon); and in Maputo, at the Fundação Musiarte – Conservatory of Dramatic Art and Music, at 16:00 (local time).

Admission is free at all venues, subject to prior registration by email in Maputo ([email protected]) and in Praia (divulgaçã[email protected]).

The Gulbenkian Foundation has a long history of cooperation with Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique since its creation, developing projects in the fields of education, research, healthcare and the arts, as well as scholarship programmes.
