Senior Producer – Live Arts
Applications until March 30
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose fundamental purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, charity, science, and education. The Foundation operates from its headquarters in Lisbon and delegations in Paris and London.
The Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM) is an art and culture centre that brings together the largest collection of modern and contemporary Portuguese art to date. With a renovated building and a new extension of the garden, CAM will re-open to the public in 2024 with a mission to enhance the transformative power of art to promote social and individual change.
We are looking for a Senior Producer to join the CAM team. In this role, you will manage the production and delivery of CAM’s Live Arts programme. The Live Arts programme includes talks, performances, film screenings and other live events, as well as commissioning and presenting new works. It takes place across the new building (opening in 2024), the garden and the public realm.
Contractual conditions: 2-year contract.
Main duties and responsibilities
Planning and production
Execute, together with the Head of Live Arts, the programme calendar, ensuring the production of an evenly spaced programme across the year, considering audiences, internal activity, city-wide and international diary clashes.
Drive the Live Arts annual programme planning process, defining project schedules and resource needs (financial and human), as well as key performance indicators for the projects.
Oversee the production of Live Arts events to the highest standards, setting up project teams across the institution’s production teams (notably technical, production, operations and marketing) and liaising with external partners and collaborators. The postholder will also be responsible for the production of specific projects.
Guarantee appropriate contractual agreements with artists, partners and collaborators and ensure obligations are met and followed.
Ensure clear and timely communication of the Live Arts projects to key internal stakeholders in order to foster collaboration with other strands of programme and to actively support the promotion of the activities.
Management and representation
Work closely with the Live Arts coordinator, managing, guiding, and supporting CAM’s small Live Art production team, promoting a dynamic working environment of active collaboration.
Devise and implement best practice systems and processes for the Live Arts programme production, including evaluation and reporting.
Represent CAM at Live Arts events, internally and externally.
Keep abreast of trends and developments in the cultural field (particularly Live Arts); including opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.
Contribute to the institution’s commitment to embedding equity and sustainability across all areas of operation.
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the position must fulfill other, unspecified, responsibilities necessary to achieve the objectives of the projects and the work team and/or the organization.
