The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose fundamental purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, philanthropy, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon and its offices in Paris and London.

We are looking for a Project and Security Manager to join the Central Services team. This role is responsible for supporting the definition and implementation of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s intrusion security strategy, which includes, namely, detection and alarm systems, perimeter devices, access control mechanisms, and verification of the operational status of CCTV equipment.

Contractual conditions: Permanent employment contract

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments, define needs, and design the security architecture. Identify threats and vulnerabilities, assess risk levels by area, and define priority protection needs. Design the overall architecture of intrusion, perimeter, and CCTV systems, identifying technologies to be used, defining minimum performance criteria, and principles for integration with existing infrastructures.
  • Establish operational policies, mandatory technical requirements, and legal compliance criteria. Propose the strategic investment plan, prioritizing improvements, replacements, and expansions based on risk, cost-benefit analysis, and technological evolution.
  • Ensure the management of intrusion systems and CCTV operations, guaranteeing the correct functioning of detection and alarm systems, proper programming, supervision of sensors and perimeter devices, monitoring and validation of alerts, faults, and events, and verification of camera availability, recording, and image quality.
  • Coordinate the verification of alarms and suspected intrusions, record incidents, analyze causes, and propose corrective measures in coordination with the Security team.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance with standards, legislation, and internal procedures, and the performance of periodic tests of equipment functionality.

Required Skills

  • Pre-Bologna Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field;
  • Experience in similar roles as a preferred criterion;
  • Good knowledge of English (spoken and written);
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Strong results-oriented mindset.
