The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose main purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through art, benevolence, science, and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon, and from its offices in Paris and London.

We are seeking to reinforce our Central Department team with a Communication Manager.

Contractual conditions: Permanent Employment Contract

Main responsibilities

Applications Review

Conduct the applications management and review process, namely those of intermediate complexity, checking eligibility requirements, selecting the evaluators panel, and preparing reports for the Board of Directors, with a view to justifying the non-approval of applications received, in the event of complaints by any of the applicants.

Manage and Monitor Projects, Activities, and Events

Ensure the management, follow-up and monitoring of various ongoing projects, activities and events, namely of intermediate complexity and size, with a view to ensuring procedural compliance, and assuring their quality development and execution on the ground.

Carry out continuous evaluation of projects; identify any deviations / areas for improvement, in order to define and implement corrective measures, with a view to ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with the previously established quality and financial parameters.

Team Supervision

Follow up and monitor the activities performed by the team, namely, by establishing and setting priorities for carrying out the various tasks, while ensuring the existence and availability of the necessary resources to carry them out. Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the defined plans and schedules, ensuring compliance with deadlines and with the budget.

Information Analysis and Management

Ensure the analysis, validation and confirmation of information, data, invoices and documentation related to the development of the various projects, in order to support the management and decision-making processes, providing them with greater reliability and robustness, while minimizing risks.

Social Networks and Content Production

Carry out, if applicable, the production of content for social networks in accordance with inputs received, with a view to promoting and disseminating the activities, initiatives and events of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation among the community.

Organize and edit, if applicable, the contents of digital newsletters, among others, in accordance with the rules and procedures in force, within the defined deadlines and with the necessary quality indices.

Continuous Improvement

Promote and drive the continuous improvement process, regularly reassessing processes and work methods, with a view to increasing efficiency, effectiveness, and promoting cost reduction in the organization.

Required Skills

  • Graduate degree
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in similar positions
  • Good communication, analysis, and autonomy skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken Portuguese and English languages
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
