The Scientific Acceleration Programme for the PALOP is designed to equip young graduates with the interdisciplinary skills needed to pursue advanced studies (Master’s or PhD) or to enter research institutions or industry in the fields of health and life sciences.
The programme also aims to strengthen scientific networks within the PALOP, foster collaboration with other African countries, and build partnerships with Portugal, opening up new opportunities for research and development.
Ultimately, it seeks to help train a new generation of scientists with a broad, multidisciplinary understanding of health and life sciences.
Running for up to 18 months, the programme comprises 10 months of theoretical training at the University of Cabo Verde (Praia) and 6 months of placement at a scientific or technological institution in Europe (preferably Portugal) or in Africa.
Up to 20 scholarships will be awarded. The programme will run from January 2026 to July 2027.
