With the challenge of reimagining a museum that is currently closed, today, on International Museum Day, we launch a new direction in programming for audiences with impaired vision. Inspired by previous tactile and audio-described visits to the Modern Art Centre collection, the cycle ‘Works to be listened to’ focuses on a different work from the collection each month, with a brief audio that allows us to listen and get to know the artist and the piece chosen. Made with two voices, one belonging to a mediator from the Education Department and the other to an audio-describer, each audio offers a fresh approach that will give plenty of food for thought and keep feeding our curiosity until we are finally able to meet again in the CAM. Today, the chosen artist is Marcelino Vespeira and the work O Menino Imperativo [The Imperative Boy].
