Historian and medievalist David Nirenberg takes part in a public conversation on the role of the humanities in contemporary society.

In the next day David Nirenberg will participate in a public discussion on the place of the humanities in contemporary society.

The panel, with guests to be announced, will address the continuing relevance of humanistic inquiry in a time of rapid technological, political, and cultural change.

The Gulbenkian Institute for Advanced Study is an independent institute established in 2025 by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. It supports the work of world-class communities of fellows for limited periods of time, usually between three and nine months, in a congenial intellectual environment, with few regular obligations. Fellows receive a stipend and accommodation.
