With this kit, we will explore the cycles of nature through the observation of a tree and its transformations. To do so, a very special package will be sent by mail, containing proposals to be developed throughout the year within the school/institution’s space. Inside, there are various materials that will serve as tools for a project unfolding in several stages, during which we will work on careful observation and creative development.
Trees live in ecosystems that include countless elements – the soil where their roots grow, the neighboring plants, and the animals that find shelter in them. Their shapes, colors, and textures change over time, cyclically, following the rhythm of the seasons and of life itself.
Drawing on multisensory clues and the natural elements found in the spaces we inhabit, the different workshop proposals are based on experiencing the rhythms of nature and our connection with biodiversity – of which we are a part – to creatively recreate, in the classroom, a tree and the life it provides to other living beings. And one day, when you visit the Gulbenkian Garden, it will be an opportunity to rediscover many of these phenomena.
Advance booking is required between schools and the Gulbenkian Foundation to define the procedures for sending the kit by mail.
