In this workshop for families we will print leaves on white fabric, using a technique that fixes tannin in the fabric.

Tannin is the main colourant found in plants and it allows us to achieve shades of colour on fabrics with cellulosic fibres.

Using a simple process, we will discover which of the plants around us possess this potential as a dye. We will print these leaves onto white fabric, using a technique that fixes the tannin on the cloth, and take home clothes from the garden!
