A short course designed to strengthen skills in health research, aimed at researchers from the PALOP countries.

Open to researchers and Master’s and PhD students in the health sciences from the PALOP, this course covers the main stages of the scientific publication process: initial preparation, manuscript writing, the development of visual elements, communication with editors and the editorial process, as well as strategies for promoting research after publication.

The course will be taught in English, without simultaneous translation. Applications until May 18.

Participation is subject to a selection process.

02 June / Initial preparation: concepts and methodologies

Types of scientific articles, literature databases and effective search strategies, authorship guidelines, how to choose a journal, and writing in English as a non-native speaker.

08 June / Manuscript writing – Part 1

Abstract, introduction, results, discussion, conclusion, and reference management.

09 June / Manuscript writing – Part 2

Abstract, introduction, results, discussion, conclusion, and reference management.

11 June / Designing visual elements

Figures and graphs: principles and good practices.

15 June / Communication with editors and the editorial process

Cover letters, response to reviewers, and understanding the editorial process.

16 June / Promoting research after publication

Strategies for promoting published work, including the effective use of channels such as press releases and social media.
