Under the guidance of Scheherazade, heroine of the age-old One Thousand and One Nights, CAM presents an exhibition of its Collection inspired by the fictional framework of those tales.
Using concepts drawn from the stories to shape the exhibition into 14 thematic sections, the display presents the collection in a surprising, non-chronological way – creating dialogues and connections between artists and works from different styles and periods.
Collecting, exhibiting and storytelling are presented as ways of opening up spaces for fiction and memory. The exhibition is conceived as an open book.
The tour in Portuguese costs 100,00 € per group plus the exhibition ticket value and in other languages costs 120,00 € per group plus the exhibition ticket value. All tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
