Por um Galho was created based on an artistic concept that combines art, nature and community. It is a multidisciplinary project that uses visual arts as its main expressive resource, aimed at enhancing the abilities of older adults by involving them in the design, creation, exhibition and performative presentation of site-specific, ephemeral and biodegradable art installations that will naturally decompose and return to the soil.

The pieces, created in co-authorship with the project participants and inspired by their stories, enhance their knowledge, skills and creativity. The project promotes active ageing, skills acquisition, cognitive stimulation, well-being, and personal development, while also fostering civic and political consciousness and raising awareness of environmental issues through art.
