Location
Room 1 Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationThe Grannies are masters at sharing their craft. This time, they share traditional embroidery techniques, taking as their point of inspiration six haute couture pieces from the exhibition Art and Fashion (Arte e Moda). A workshop for those who enjoy upcycling or would like to try it for the first time; for those who want to learn embroidery or already do it with their eyes closed!
The length of the workshop depends on the desire to embroider… or to chat!
Just bring a plain shirt in a non-stretch fabric; all other materials will be provided. Free admission, subject to room capacity.

Grandma Came to Work
Grandma Came to Work (A Avó Veio Trabalhar) is a creative hub for those aged sixty and above, where a sense of purpose and community are woven through craft and artistic activities that celebrate traditional knowledge.
With spaces in Lisbon, Cascais, and the Azores, they are not merely ateliers, but creative laboratories. Places where products are created, workshops and cultural experiences flourish, and exchange between generations nourishes, above all, a sense of belonging.
