Famous Catalan conductor Jordi Savall is bringing his orchestra Le Concert de Nations back to the Grand Auditorium, this time to perform a programme dedicated to two emblematic Beethoven symphonies. Savall’s careful investigation of historical sources over many years has resulted here in interpretations of Beethoven’s Symphonies No. 6 and No. 7 that are closer to their original contexts. To achieve this, Savall has reduced the number of musicians in the orchestra and uses instruments as they existed and sounded in that Viennese period. A remarkable journey into the past that will take us back to Beethoven’s time.
