Open-Air Amphitheatre Gulbenkian GardenInspired by the traditional carousel, this interactive and playful installation invites grown-ups to share a fun moment with the little ones. While the adults pedal… the children enjoy themselves.
At the same time, repurposing objects that some might consider useless and transforming them into true thrones of fun demonstrates how waste can be turned into something valuable. Each piece of old furniture has been transformed into a different animal.
The Panda-Sofa, the Black Pig-Barrel, the Flamingo-Crate, the Rocking Chair-Horse, the Giraffe-Chest of Drawers, and the Bull-Sofa are the stars of this installation, brought to life by the strength of the grown-ups’ efforts. This playful installation becomes the stage for their show-concert, followed by a moment where the kids spin around, powered by the mechanical force of their accompanying adults.
This project is promoted by Largo Residências and funded by PARTIS and Art for Change.

The project Residências Refúgio (Refugee Residencies) aims to strengthen the notion of social inclusion in art, through artistic practices with a programme of annual social residencies, linked to a pilot programme of artistic residencies, to improve monitoring of the inclusion process for people in refugee situations. The programme combines training with the creation and presentation of artistic activities, in which migrants or people in refugee situations are the key agents in the process.
