Some "Prison Papers" by Luandino Vieira
With: António Simão, Daniel Martinho, João Meireles, João Pedro Mamede, Jorge Silva Melo e Pedro Carraca
Assistant director: Andreia Bento
Directed by: Jorge Silva Melo
“This must be the famous Tarrafal, which reopened when they sent the Angolans here”, wrote Luandino Vieira on 13 August 1964, when imprisoned in the concentration camp, sent there from Luanda where he had challenged the dictatorship. “It seems like a dream to have ended up here.”
There are notes, emotions, reflections, facts, statements, “pieces of we ourselves”, a voice that fears being held back in time.
