The young Estonian conductor Mihhail Gerts will lead the second concert of the Gulbenkian Orchestra as part of the “Lisboa na Rua” festival. Accuracy, energy and deep empathy for the audience and the musicians characterize Gerts’ performances, having led to a quick rise on the international stage. The conductor will lead a programme with a strong concert component, for double bass and oboe, relying on the great interpretative quality of two soloists from the Gulbenkian Orchestra. The programme will be completed with Schumann’s final symphony, which the composer wrote after a trip to the Rhineland region in western Germany.
