About the Conference
Next May 9th, Europe day, we will debate how the return of geopolitics and the affirmation of the great powers have conditioned the management of European crises and the external relations between EU member states. Russia’s revisionism, China’s strategic expansion, US closure, and United Kingdom’s withdrawal converge in time, placing an existential pressure on the European Union. This international seminar, entitled Europe and the Return of Great Power Politics, brings to Lisbon a new generation of European opinion makers to discuss the main trends in geopolitics and globalization as well as the responses that are being given by the European Union.
